Introduction

Master Hongyi Yixing Zisha Figurine – A Spiritual Ceramic Sculpture for Buddhist Collectors and Tea Art Enthusiasts

This handcrafted Yixing Zisha figurine depicts the serene and compassionate image of Master Hongyi — one of the Four Eminent Monks of the Republic of China. Revered for his deep understanding of Buddhist teachings and contributions to Chinese calligraphy, Master Hongyi is an icon of spiritual clarity and artistic refinement.

The figurine is made entirely from authentic original ore Zisha (purple clay), a rare and prized material found only in Yixing, Jiangsu. This fine clay is known for its dense texture, earthy hue, and excellent breathability, making it ideal not only for teapots but also for detailed sculpture work.

Measuring 50 cm in height and 14 cm in width, this collectible Buddhist sculpture was skillfully shaped by renowned clay artist Xun Shaohua, who brings over 30 years of expertise in Yixing clay sculpting. Every fold of the robe, every strand of the prayer beads, and every gentle feature of the master’s face is rendered with meticulous attention to detail, evoking both reverence and inner calm.

The design reflects a core Buddhist truth: “Letting go leads to freedom.” This philosophy is not only embodied in the subject matter but also subtly expressed through the flowing lines and balanced structure of the piece.

Whether displayed in a meditation space, a tea room, or an art collection, the Master Hongyi Zisha Figurine stands as a profound reminder of mindfulness, detachment, and spiritual grace.
